Having Kids Close in Age Vs Spaced Apart

As you may know, our first two children are a little less than 10 months apart in age. Our second and third are 6 years and 7 months apart. That was a tough first year, but definitely a great decision on our part having them close in age. They're like best friends now!

It's much easier going from two to three kids than one to two kids, for sure. It's not really been a hard adjustment going from two to three kids at all, other than an extra carseat of course and making sure we have all that we need in the diaper bag before we go anywhere. I love having had our first two so close in age as they're really close now, and one is going into first grade and the other is going into second grade, so they ride the same bus to and from school and see each other sometimes through the day, during the school year.

It's a huge blessing being able to be a stay at home mom. Yes, I make some income on my blog so it helps in some ways when we want to do some extra stuff or something. I am excited to watch all of our kids grow into their own selves and be who God wants them to be in life. It's fun watching the older two interact with him on a regular basis and want to help.

  1. My boys are 3 years and 13 days apart. I wanted them 2 years apart, but it didn't work out that way.

  2. My kids are 4 years apart. Going from two to three kids was a huge adjustment for me personally. I could handle 1 to 2 with ease. Now it's no big deal, but it was when she was first born. It's nice hearing your position on this topic.

  5. My first two are barely two years apart, I have two with three years apart and then theres Joseph who's only 1 and theres a HUGE age gap between him and all of my boys. I think that having them close together is harder but so so worth it.

  8. My boys are 8 years apart. There are pros and cons with the age difference but it's worked really well for us and honestly, I wouldn't change a thing.

  9. Mine are 5 years apart. It wasn't planned that way and I would have had a lot more but God had 2 in mind and I am so happy with our little family. Even though they fight a lot.

  10. I have two siblings of which I am the oldest... I am 17 months older than my sister and she is 17 months older than my brother, so we are all relatively close in age. My mom was only 19 when she had me so I know have 3 young kids in your early twenties must have been tough, but she wouldn't have it any other way. :) I have an only child, and that works just fine for us! :)

  11. I just have one child who will be an only. I was also an only child and it hurts to think of the lonely times he will endure in life. I wish we could of had a sibling for him, but it was not in the cards.

  12. Mine are four and a half years apart and it works well for us. I wanted them a little closer together but it's been nice having my son be old enough to help a little. The baby is 16 months now and they are super close!
