Egg Coloring Fun Inspired by Ugly Dolls

Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your kids, for Ugly Dolls?

When it comes to Easter, our family has a lot of fun getting an egg coloring kit and coloring eggs together. The ones in this post, I did myself because my family was in town and our older two kids were staying with them overnight.

My favorite kit to buy is the PAAS Egg Coloring Kit that you can get at Walmart for just $1.88. I need to stock up on these for next year! We always buy 5 dozen eggs for our family at a time, so I am always setting aside the dozen and 18 eggs cartons once they're done being used, for when we have more and I need to save space in our refrigerator.

They loved how they turned out when I showed them! I had been trying to figure out how to get the eggs to get bright to be the colors that I needed for this post and figured out that keeping the eggs in the mixture with each color for about 20 - 25 minutes worked PERFECT! For the eggs to cook, I boiled them for about 10 - 15 minutes and then removed from heat.

I followed the instructions to a tee and put the tablet in each cup and put 1 tablespoon of vinegar in with it until each one dissolved, and then added room temperature water in each cup, and then added the eggs to each cup, and left them in there for 20 - 25 minutes.

As for drawing their faces on the eggs, we used a highlighter as I forgot to buy a permanent marker for this one, and they had a fun time doing this activity for the movie, Ugly Dolls. I love doing Easter egg hunts with our kids so we will be doing one with these soon.

The end result with the drawn on faces to the colored eggs:
