So many people cause a fuss all over a baby EATING; so what should you do? I say ignore them or get onesies that help support nursing in public and in general. I like when I see moms standing up for themselves with nursing and don't let other people bully them into making them feel like they HAVE to use a blanket or cover to simply nurse their little one.
How would YOU like to eat while having a blanket on your head? Yeah, I won't either and neither will any infant of mine unless I personally choose to use a cover for my own comfort until I get use to being out more. This is for new baby in April, but I used a cover until 3 months for our youngest and then got more use to balancing feeding and such while out, which made it easier.
Don't let people make you feel bad about doing something natural - feeding your little one. Do what makes you his or her mother feel most comfortable. I used a 2-shirt method which made life so much easier.
