Spider-Verse Shortbread Cookies Recipe

*Disclaimer - I was sent a gift card and supplies for this fun activity, to share with my readers.

Are you looking for a fun recipe to do with your kids?

I love to bake and of course, our kids love to help sometimes make the cookies and definitely help enjoy the batter and final product. We also got some fun things with this activity for our kids to enjoy.

Our 3-year-old and 10-year-old helped me with this activity and had fun helping me with the cookies!

They each also got a nice Spiderman pull string bag:

For some reason mine did not turn out like the picture showed it should so I am trying it a second time shortly but for now my end product is below.

Ingredients You will Need:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 tsp almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

To decorate:
Sprinkles or candy

Instructions for baking:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Use a mixer, cream butter and shortening until creamy and well combined
- Add the sugar and mix till creamy
- Add a pinch of salt, vanilla and almond extract. Mix it in with everything else.
- Add in the flour to mix in
- Form the dough into a ball and put it on the cookie sheet
- Press on the cookie to flatten it with your thumb
- In the middle where you flattened it, drop a piece of candy or sprinkles to decorate prior to baking
- Put in the oven for about 10 minutes. The sides will be golden brown which is the end result you want

- Let the cookies cool for about 10 minutes and then enjoy
