Lots of breastfeeding moms know that babies nurse for lots of reasons - baby is hungry, tired, wants to be comforted, is upset, etc. Our son is 10 months old and still nurses 6 - 8 times a day, sometimes a little less.
He still has 2nd or 3rd foods, but also loves to eat foods - pancakes, waffle, crackers, mashed potatoes, soft carrots, applesauce, and more but loves to nurse. He tends to comfort nurse when he's really tired mostly. Yes, it can get tiring at times, but it's well worth it to keep him happy and ultimately healthy.
I plan on letting him nurse until he wants to wean, or 16 months - whichever occurs first. I personally don't want to past 16 months. He went to his 9 month check up a couple of weeks ago and was only a couple ounces from 20 lbs! He's a healthy / chunky boy for sure.
