Kinzua Bridge State Park
A local sight seeing place that attracts a lot of tourists to it is known as the Kinzua Bridge State Park, and is located in Northwestern Pennsylvania. It's a really neat attraction to go see if you haven't yet.
This is an old train bridge, but the rest of it was destroyed several years ago when a tornado hit through the area and destroyed the rest of the bridge. Now, it's an attraction for families to go see and there's a glass area once you get to the end of the walking bridge that you can look down and see the remains. Even kids think it's cool to walk across, and get pictures.
We have a fun time as a family when we go walk the bridge where the glass is. There is a picnic area, as well as a walking trail but we have not done that part of it yet. That's the next thing we want to do is go to the trail and picnic area, with our family maybe in the fall. The picture below is of my husband and two older kids, in August when we went so this was before I had our 3rd.

I came upon this post by accident but after reading it, it has me wondering where you are located. My family also visits Kinzua yearly. No way, no how would I walk across that bridge though. We go to other parts of Kinzua as well. I see you are somewhere in PA. I lived in Corry for awhile, I have relatives and had a job close by. Kinzua is a interesting place for sightseers of all ages. You should visit Alleghany State Park as well. It is very close by.

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing actually - the tornado damage that is. The bridge itself is pretty cool, too - we don't see stuff like that around here.
