Are you needing a good starter camera for blogging or photography?

In mid April 2016, I decided to up my game a bit for blogging and buy a good starter camera to have better pictures within my blog posts, more so for campaigns but also in general. It took awhile, but I finally got the hang of this Canon EOS Rebel T5 camera.

You can buy the bundle that comes with a 18 - 55 mm lense, HERE for just $549, on Amazon! I love the carrying bag it comes in too; it's easy to grab and go as needed and is good for protecting it from being bumped on anything.

Here's what comes with this bundle: Pictured below
- 18MP APS-C CMOS Sensor
- DIGIC 4 Image Processor
- Full HD 1080p Video
- 3" LCD Screen
- 100-6400 ISO
- 9 Point Autofocus System
- 3 fps Continuous Shooting
- Scene Intelligent Auto Mode
- Compatible with Canon EF and EF-S  Lenses

The camera flash has:
- Auto, Flash On, and Flash Off

You can also buy the shoulder strap like I did that fits the form of this camera perfectly, as well as models: T5i, T4i, T3i, T3, T2i, T1i, Xt, Xti, Xsi, and Sl1 DSLR cameras, HERE for only $6.98! I love the shoulder strap and have yet to ever remove it since buying it.

It's well worth every penny, especially if you love photography. I love the clearness of the pictures that it takes, whether they are close up or in a distance with or without having to use the zoom on it.

After months of trying to figure it out and not reading the manual that it came with like I should have, I finally figured out how to use the video portion of this camera. It makes things much easier in the longrun when you take the time to read the manual.

The screen that's on the back of the camera as you can see below is a nice size and is great for when you're outdoors especially where you need it to focus better in the light. I enjoy doing outdoor pictures, both for blogging and just fun family pictures at the park with our kids. They turn out much better than they do indoors.

  1. Canon does make a good camera, it was one of the brands I narrowed my search down to years ago. If I were to go back to a dslr again I'd consider them again.

  2. I just upgraded my camera to a Lumix and I'm still getting used to it. A good camera definitely makes a difference, but it's the learning curve that's killing me.

  3. I've been looking around for a good camera to take with me on an upcoming trip abroad. I've read a lot of good reviews about the Canon EOS Rebel T5 and I think I have found exactly what I need! Thanks for the review.

  6. Nice!! I think when both of us are starting to make an income again (husband is in medical school), I want to invest in a camera! Right now, all my blog pics come from my iPhone which is convenient but they're not so great!

  7. Canon is my favorite camera I actually have two and I enjoy them a lot. I am not fan of buying all the complete kit with gadgets as prefer to add on as needed.
