Summer Break is Finally Here!

Summer break has arrived as of Friday and that means no more school til August! No more 6:40am alarms, even though I am up by then anyway.

We now have a first and second grader, and we couldn't be more proud of how far they have come! They are very excited for next school year, except our daughter knows she will be having as much homework as her brother did this year and is not too thrilled for that since kindergarten had no homework 98% of the time.

They are very excited for summer break as they have a lot going on with the park, camping with scouts, swimming, and much more!

What are you going to be doing with your kids over summer break?

  1. We have a beach season parking pass, so we will be there all summer long. And at the playground :)

  2. I think I am one of the only parents who dreads summer break. But then again my kids are all in high school (teens) so they don't want to hang with mom. Plus I work outside of the home for 5 hours a day so I have to keep tabs on them from home. We are taking a trip to the Oregon coast in 2 weeks for 10 days!! That should be fun.

  6. Ugh. The homework. Yes, My Kindergarten student had it a few times a week. Both kids have big packets for the Summer. We won't set the alarm quite as early, but still have some learning to do. I also have great plans for science projects and craft projects. Hope you have a wonderful Summer.

  9. My lil guy begin swim lessons - he is not very eager, but living in Florida it's so important that they are confident in the water.

  10. We have big plans - lots of free fun events, food, fun with friends, etc. I am sure the summer will go too quickly for my liking, but we will treasure it!

  11. That's what we're expecting from our school too. No homework for kindergarten but plenty for all grades above. Enjoy vacation while it lasts!

  13. I'm planning to spend my summer exploring my home state of Ohio. I'm also taking a road trip with my husband but my kids are older so this isn't something that we do only in the summer. I'm glad I don't need to get up at 6am to get them ready for school!

    1. We started school on either August 20 or 25, 2014 so they got out on May 29. This year they start on 26th. I'm not sure what last day is this time.

Boston got a TON of snow in 2014 / 2015 so that could be why. But, I don't think I've ever heard of late June getting out. For me, I graduated June 5, 2005. (I feel old lol)
