Being part of Cub Scouts, our family is able to help in the local community close to home with our pack. My husband is a cub scout leader for our son's den which this fall will be Weeblos 1. They do a lot of community projects throughout the school year that make a big impact on both businesses and the families involved in volunteering, as well as the families being helped through the projects being done.
School can and should be a fun time in our kids' lives and letting kids do an extra activity after school can be good for him or her as well.

Are your kids excited for Santa to come tonight?
I know mine are! Our daughter was given some 'Reindeer Food' for tonight, on their last day of school before Christmas break on Dec. 22, so we will be putting that out with them tonight!!
Our kids aren't involved in any sports until they're older, but they do have a lot of fun being involved with Cub Scouts (son) and Daisy Scouts (daughter).
The other night, we went to the open house at our kids' school and they kept asking if they could sign up for girl scouts and cub scouts and hope to have some of their friends in it as well.
