If you’re visiting Malaysia for the first time with your family, you might be concerned about your kids. We all know how challenging traveling with young children can be  . Especially when are you traveling a long distance. You want them to enjoy the journey while also being entertained throughout your stay. Bored and uninterested children are every parent’s worst nightmare. Thankfully, Malaysia is a fantastic family destination with plenty to see and do for all ages. To start planning your fun-filled itinerary,  here are some kid-friendly activities.

Visit a wildlife reserve
If you want your children to appreciate nature and animals, taking them to a Malaysian wildlife reserve will be the perfect activity. You could take them to the Tabin wildlife reserve, which is located in rich and dense rainforests. This reserve is home to a number of endangered species such as orangutan and pygmy elephants. Being able to see these animals up close will be a highlight of your trip. Malaysia is also home to many national parks where you can find waterfalls, hot springs, and mountains. Your kids will adore being out in the wild and learning about the interesting plants and animals that inhabit the forests. Walking around the reserves and parks is also a great way of getting them to exercise.

Explore the ocean
Malaysia has some of the clearest waters and beautiful beaches in the world. The clarity of the water makes it a brilliant place for your kids to explore the underwater world. There are many kid-based scuba diving courses where children aged 8-12 can learn how to dive. This will not only teach them new skills but also unleashes their sense of adventure and exploration. For younger children, you can explore the shallows using a simple snorkel. Or you can hunt for beautiful shells that you can take home with you. With plenty of beaches and dive areas, exploring the ocean with your kids is an absolute must.

Go to a water park
As Malaysia is known for it’s tropical heat and high temperatures, water parks are a great place to cool off and have fun. You can all go for a dip in the pool at Legoland or discover the Nickelodeon Water Theme Park & Hotel . Your kids will love being able to see their favorite cartoon characters such as SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer. With amazing water slides, aqua tube rides and play areas, it’s not hard to see why the water parks are so popular with families. Malaysia has multiple water parks throughout the country. Some of which are home to the largest water rides and man-made wave pool in the world. Look online or ask your travel agent to recommend the best one for your family.

With so many activities to try out, your kids will love every second of their trip to Malaysia. Talk to parents who have stayed here before to gain some valuable tips and advice. With so much fun and interest in one place, they will never want to leave.
