I was asked to write about how to cope with back to school transition, awhile back but am just now getting around to the post.
The way we get our kids back into the back to school schedule, is by making their normal bedtime 8pm about two weeks before school starts. School here started in late August, so we have been in routine for quite awhile now.
Their summer schedule for bedtime is 9:30 - 10pm, and the bedtime for them during the school year is 8pm during the week and 9pm on weekends. Wednesday evenings, bedtime is around 8:40pm, due to church activities.
It's not too difficult to get them in a routine for school, mainly because they enjoy school and they are in first and second grade, so they have been in school a couple years now.
