My daughter is 5 1/2 years old and is about 47 lbs, and we had been using a different brand of carseat until we moved in April 2014, and then we put her back into a booster seat with no back. Well, when she falls asleep she tends to slouch over which I don't like when she isn't fully protected by a harness of some sort, and I knew that Car seat Safety Awareness Month was coming up in the fall, so I asked Evenflo about reviewing a new car seat for her to ensure her safety. They offered a few different options for me to choose from, and I decided to go with the Evenflo Symphony DXL All In One car seat for her. The style that I received is the Emerson, and I absolutely love the color! The price of this car seat style is $249.99 online at their retailer of Babies R Us.
For use rear facing, the child must meet all these requirements:
- Weight: 5 - 40 lbs
- Height: 19 - 37 inches
- AND the top of child's head is at least 1 inch below the top of the child restraint seat back
For use forward facing, the child must meet all these requirements:
- Weight: 22 - 65 lbs
- Height: 28 - 50 inches
- AND the tops of their ears are below the top of the child restraint headrest
- Age: At LEAST 1 year of age
For booster use, the child must meet all these requirements:
- Weight: 40 - 100 lbs
- Height: 43.3 - 57 inches
- AND the tops of their ears are below the top of the child restraint headrest
- Age: At LEAST 4 years old

This is one of Evenflo's award winning seats that happen to carry forward their passion for products that foster a safer as well as peaceful ride. This particular car seat is made to fit babies rear facing from 5 - 40 lbs, forward facing from 40 - 65 lbs, and then to a booster seat from 65 - 110 lbs, so you will not need to buy but one seat for your child if you choose to go with this one, but I will let you know now that it's a pretty bulky car seat.
The Symphony DXL has an OUTLAST Performance Fabric that absorbs hot and cold temperature, releasing as needed. It's good with balancing your child's temperature for a safer and also more comfortable car ride. The car seat also has something called Buckle Pockets which actually protects the child from hot buckle burns that they may experience in a different seat, and it also eliminates digging under your child for famous lost buckles as I know I have experienced many times. It has a machine washable pad for this car seat.
